Our organizations soul purpose is to find homes for the abandoned and unwanted cats of Houston Tx. We will provide a safe haven until the day they meet their destined people. It is our hope that we serve as a passage way to reunite them to you, the adopter! We hope to see you soon.
THE ADOPTION PROCESS
STEP ONE
Select your new friend.
Here at ACC we have many cats and kittens waiting to be adopted. Many have been in our care for several months to years! Spend some time interacting with them to see if they are a good match for your personality and lifestyle.
STEP TWO
Fill out an application.
Notify our staff of your chosen friend and ask for an application. The application consists of various questions that ensures the cats wellbeing in their new home.
STEP THREE
Approval.
Once you submitted your application it will be sent for approval. This process is done within the same-day/same-visit, unless stated otherwise by staff on site.
STEPÂ FOUR
Sign adoption contract.
Once the application has been approved, you will sign an adoption contract ensuring full responsibly for your new chosen friend.
STEP FIVE
Pay adoption fee. ($50)
Fee for all cats is $50, unless there is a specific promotion for reduced adoptions fees being run at that time.
Our payment methods are Cash, Checks, Card (manual entry), PayPal, Venmo, or Cash App. Cash is preferred.
STEP SIX
Take your new friend home!
Finally, once the process is complete you can take your friend home and start enjoying their company. We ask that you bring your own carrier on the day of.

Due to understaffing, longer sterilization surgery wait times, and never ending responsibilities outside of our online presence, our list might be out of date.

FAQ
WHAT IS IN INCLUDED IN THE ADOPTION?
Every kitty in our care will be spayed/neutered, have received their initial FVRCP and Rabies vaccines, deworming, and flea treatments before going home. A copy of their medical records will be provided. (Unless special circumstances apply.)

We strongly encourage you take your new kitty to your veterinarian as soon as possible for an in depth health evaluation and possible follow up procedures necessary (ex. vaccination).
WHEN CAN I BRING MY NEW KITTY HOME?
All kitties spayed/neutered, vaccinated, dewormed, and flea treated will be able to go home same day.

Certain circumstances than can cause delay...
- Health (We want to ensure the kitty is in good health before going home by providing additional medical care if necessary.)
- Delay in sterilization surgeries (Delay may be between 1-2 weeks on average.)

Staff will notify you of any possible delays upon selection and potential options will be provided.
HOW WILL I BRING MY NEW KITTY HOME?
Unfortunately, we are unable to provide carriers due to financial costs. We are very sorry for the inconvenience.
We request that you bring your own on adoption day.
WHAT IS THE RETURN POLICY?
We understand possible unseen difficulties that might result in needing to return your new kitty. We will ALWAYS welcome back any kitty adopted from our shelter. AAC will always be a home for them to return to. Please do not hesitate to contact or visit us if this difficult situation arises.
**The adoption fee will not be refunded once the kitty is returned.
